ABOUT

The 1925 Foundation was created to invest in one of Beach Point Club’s greatest strengths: its people. In 2022, a group of longtime members came together with a shared vision to support the club’s loyal, dedicated, and hardworking employees. Their goal was to establish a foundation that could provide educational scholarships for employees and their children, as well as offer emergency assistance during times of serious hardship. By the end of 2023, with IRS approval secured, that vision became a reality with the official launch of the 1925 Foundation, named in honor of the club’s founding year.

Since its inception, the Foundation has been met with extraordinary support from the membership, with many choosing to contribute as recurring donors. It welcomes a variety of charitable giving methods, including donor-advised funds, family contributions, stock transfers, and planned gifts.

The Foundation is led by a dedicated group of club members who helped bring the vision to life. Carl Goldman serves as Chair and Len Schmolka as Vice Chair, joined by Beth Vaisman as Treasurer, Susan Myers as Secretary, and James Dreyfus. Together, they provide leadership and stewardship to ensure the Foundation’s continued impact.

At its core, the 1925 Foundation is focused on expanding educational opportunities. It provides meaningful financial support to employees pursuing a wide range of academic paths, from community colleges and four-year universities to specialized programs such as dental school. Since its founding, the Foundation has awarded approximately 70 scholarships, helping employees achieve ambitious personal and professional goals. Past recipients include Yesllen, who is pursuing a career in dentistry; Zuleyha, who is studying international relations with aspirations of working for the United Nations or becoming a diplomat; and Batu, who arrived without speaking English and is now a 4.0 hospitality student with the goal of becoming a club manager.

Beyond scholarships, the Foundation also extends its impact through community and hardship support. It contributes to local police, fire, and ambulance services in appreciation of Mamaroneck’s first responders, and it provides assistance to employees during difficult times, offering support when it is needed most.

The 1925 Foundation is a nonprofit organization recognized by the IRS as a public charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Contributions are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. Tax ID: 92-3410503.
