Beach Point Club (Mamaroneck, NY) seeks Dining Room Captain as follows:
 
Job Description: Manage food & beverage service in the dining room.  Supervise dining room staff (incl. select, train, schedule, assign tasks & evaluate). Maintain order, safety, & cleanliness and ensure that member satisfaction standards are consistently attained.  Greet members & guests, discuss menu & specials, and resolve complaints.  Assist with service, and inventory, as needed.
 
Job Duties include: 
• Interacts with members and guests, including suggesting and describing available appetizers, entrees, desserts, alcoholic beverages, wines and daily specials.
• Coordinates food service between kitchen and service staff.
• Inspects all supplies, such as linens and silverware daily for proper appearance.
• Assures all safety, accident & emergency policies & procedures are in place & consistently followed.
• Assures that revenue control procedures are continually followed.
• Selects, trains, schedules, supervises and evaluates service staff.
• Inspects dining room to ensure proper maintenance, cleanliness and safety.
• Provides layout and design recommendations to applicable managers.
• Suggests dining room decorations for special themes.
• Assures that pre-opening and closing cleaning tasks are assigned and completed as required.
• Assists with service of food and beverages in outlets and for special functions when needed.
• Assists with table clearing and re-setting as needed.
• Suggests when additional service supplies and small equipment are needed.
• Enforces established rules, regulations and policies.
• Assists in restaurant inventory assessments.
• Conducts pre-service employee briefings (line-up meetings).
• Assures that local and state laws and the club’s policies and procedures for the service of alcoholic beverages are consistently followed.
• Coordinates any special requests including dietary needs with the Executive Chef.
• Completes other appropriate assignments made by the Restaurant Manager.
 
Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or foreign equivalent.
  • One (1) year of serving experience in a fine dining or banquet setting.
  • Requires skills (via 1 year of experience) as follows:
    • Leading, heading, or supervising wait staff;
    • Working with process & equipment used to store, care, prepare, cook, & serve food in large quantities;
    • Recommending wines & cocktails, and demonstrating proper wine service.
Salary: $52,062/year
